Tuesday: Quiz and Motif Work

Today started with a 20 minutes quiz on interpretation of two short passages from the text. I really gave you 25 minutes with the comment that speed needs to be developed with your skills.

Then we started to investigate the motif of “blue eyes” in the text.  We looked at the first instance (Shirley Temple cup), the second instance (Dick and Jane book), and the third instance (Jr’s house), along with the title.

HW: Find the remaining mentions of “blue eyes” in the text, evaluate the scenes individually and as a whole, make observations about how Morrison uses the motif to develop at least 3 thematic points within the text.
