Monday/Tuesday: Finish Dante, Start EH Paper

Today in class we finished reading the last section of Dante.  Canto 34 is filled with the imagery that has made Dante continuing inspiration for graphic media (art, movies, and T.V. shows).  It’s a bit horrifying- but that’s the point.

After that, we began the process of brainstorming ideas for the final paper.

1. Define the needed terms in this question, “Is the epic hero alive and well today?”.
2. Write down your ideas on this question.
3. brainstorm possible sources- You are required to use Gilgamesh, Beowulf, and Roland in your paper, but the remaining sources are up to your discretion.
