Tuesday: Welcome Back, and Close Reading Activity

Welcome back everyone.  I hope you had a restful break.

Today we started working on a close reading workshop.  I have granted you access to it in SpringBoard, so you should be able to use the electronic book features there if you want to.

We completed the first reading of “Beyond Vietnam- A Time To Break Silence”, a speech from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and completed 5W+H in class together.  Then we read the text again, with me reading to you, and you listening and identifying challenging vocabulary or sentences again.

Assignment: Work on the vocabulary you have identified as challenging for you.  At least 12 should be done as you would for a reading journal on paper for class Thursday.
