Monday: Close Reading Poetry
In pairs, you were given a poem to read and SQUIDS X4.
Then you shared this poem with a different group and verbally outlined the major literary elements, thematic focus, and other important details about the poem.
Then in your original pair, you received a pair of poems and were asked to judge which is superior. Groups committed to their choice before the end of class.
Assignment: Be ready to face an opposition view and debate in favor of your chosen poem in the next lesson. You should have clearly established criteria, reasons, and justification outlined and ready to go.
