Week 06: Assessment Review

Monday: Paper One

Today you received your mock paper 1 and feed back on your work.

Assignment: Identify what you have done well, and what areas need focused improvement in paper 1.  Make your plan to address these area in need of improvement.  Write it down and stick to it.

Wednesday: IOC

Today we listened to a student sample, evaluated it, identified areas of weakness and success, and checked scores against the official IB scores for the sample.

This is in preparation for you to do the second IOC reflection and prepare your personal study plan to prepare for the official IOC recording in February.

Assignment: Work on your personal study. Create an assignment to address a weakness that you have identified across multiple IB assessments (WT1, WT2, PPR1, PPR2, IOC, and FOA) and give yourself ass assignment task that will take about 30 minutes to complete.  Bring me proof of your work Friday.

  • My weakness is X
  • I did Y to address X.
  • Here is my Y.

Assignment: Reading journals due Friday.

Friday: PPR 2

I returned your PPR 2 Mock from November 8th today.

We deconstructed the prompt related to alienation as everyone of you chose the same option to write on.  Then we looked at how each of the part three text demonstrate some form of alienation, looked at how it needed to be limited (financial alienation, emotional alienation, and so on).

You examined your own previous work and then wrote a new thesis statement.

Then I asked you to write a thesis for the other two prompts and think about how you could approach these questions.

Assignment: Listen to your IOC Take 2 and reflect as you did with IOC 1.  Please also include your thoughts on your over all progress (IOC1, IOC 2, and what needs to be done before IOC3/The Real Deal).  Here is the link: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BzQglAELZg_VeEp0UGhTS3BUZFU

Remember you need to use your AIS email account to get to these files.  And, yes, I know that the files from Ms. Mac are not here yet.  Keep  your pants on.
