HW: Finish the worksheet from class.

HW: Finish the textbook questions that were started in class (PG. 605 #1, 4, 5, and 6)

HW: Read the background information on page 576-7 (The Koran) and page 582-3 (Sinbad the Sailor) for class Thursday. 

Wednesday: A Day– The Middle East Group Day 1

HW: Answer questions on page 605 #4 and 8.  You should write 3-4 sentences for each answer. 

HW: Read background information on pages 582 and 592- so you are prepared for class on Friday.

HW: Answer the following questions about “Sinbad.

  1. In which city does Sinbad the Sailor live?
  2. Who is Sindbad?
  3. Another name for this book:
  4. This story is an example of a …
  5. Why was Sinbad on the roc’s island?

HW: Write a paragraph or five (intro, 2-3 body paragraphs, and conclusion!) on the following questions:  Is Sinbad consider a epic hero? Make a comparison with our previous reading of epic heroes. (Due before 12pm Saturday)  

Thursday: B Day- Last Day of Presentations!

HW: Draw a scene from “The Second Voyage of Sinbad the Sailor” of your choice. Add one quotation of the story that explains the drawing.

HW: Write a paragraph explaining how the values and teachings in Islam are similar to the teachings of other religions (any religion like Buddhism or Christianity). Must include specific examples.

Please submit these items to your class group by SATURDAY so that the group can submit marks to me on TUESDAY.

HW: All reflections are due to Ms. Johnson ASAP (Middle East Group has until TUESDAY). 

Friday: A Day- Last Day of Presentations!

HW: Write an essay on this question: Is Sinbad considered a epic hero? Make a comparison with our previous reading of epic heroes.

  • After you finish the essay, send it to Kathy’s email (quyen.m.huynh015@ais.edu.vn) by NOON ON SATURDAY.  Submissions after this time will be marked late.
    • Essay Requirements:
      • Clear established topic and thesis statement
      • 2-3 body paragraph
      • Provided least some evidences of previous reading about epic heroes, remember to include citation.
      • Clear evidence/connection toward the evidences
      • Include introduction with some background info
      • Show the connection in conclusion to the introduction
