Monday/Tuesday: Hector
Block B:
Today we read the section about Hector and Andromache’s discussion regarding his joining the fight.

Block E:
Today we looked at “The Death of Hector” — sorry about the spoilers. After a brief review of what happened in the previous section, you were asked to read the section, summarize at least every page, and focus on the characterization of Hector and Achilles– as you will be doing some character comparison when we finish reading this.

Block B:
Today we are reading “The Death of Hector”. Please use class time well to read and annotate the text, and then answer the questions on page 212.

Block E:
First, you turned in your “Oedipus the King” papers, complete with evidence of the writing process.
Then, we finished “The Death of Hector” and worked on the questions on page 212.
If you finished in class, you had time to work on reading journals that are due tomorrow.

Friday/Monday:
Today we will read the last section of “The Iliad”, Your job is, again, to annotate the section. After that, please answer the following question in a short (2-3 body paragraph) essay: “Who is the superior hero- Hector or Achilles?” . Please justify your answer with evidence from each of the four sections we have read, embed your quotations into your essay with skill, and have it ready to submit for the next class.
